Three Tips on How to Find a Tinder Photographer

How Can I Find a Tinder Photographer? by Vanie Poyey

Anyone who’s ever used Tinder knows that having headshots for your profile is a must, but if you’re not confident in your selfie skills, it can be tough to know where to start. As a photographer myself, I’m here to help you with some tips on finding a professional dating photographer. So read on, and start swiping right

  1. Referrals! If you’re looking for a dating photographer, the best place to start is by asking your friends, family, and colleagues. Chances are, you know someone who has recently had pro photos taken, and they can give you a great recommendation; word of mouth is always the best way to find a good photographer. Plus, since your friends and family know you best, they’re likely to have recommendations that are tailored specifically to your personality!
  2. Search the web. While a regular Google search will do just fine, consider browsing Instagram to find potential online dating photographers. Instagram is much more visual, so you can see potential options at a glance without having to wade through Google search result links. Many photographers will link their Instagram account to their websites, where you’ll likely find their portfolios and important info on booking a session with them. Oh and don’t forget to cross reference with Yelp reviews!
  3. Interview photographers. This is a big one! Just because you found a photographer that produces the look you’re going for doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the right fit for YOU. Try to find a few potential photographers and reach out to them to learn about how they work and what their package includes. This is a great time to find out how experienced they are with dating headshots and how much guidance you’ll be receiving. There’s no such thing as a dumb question, so ask anything that comes to mind to ensure you understand what to expect and avoid surprises.

A photographer friend from college might do the trick in a pinch, but if you want to take your Tinder profile up a notch, it’s best to leave the photography to the pros who specialize in online dating photography.
