The tea on photographer sites that work👇 First co The tea on photographer sites that work👇

First comment the word ✨fixmysite✨ and I’ll send you my guide to turn your website into a lead generating machine!

You’re human first and humans connect with humans NOT businesses.

⚡️If you’re presenting yourself as a faceless, nameless photographer or “business”, you’re thinking old school and dated marketing.

⚡️And you’re likely repelling clients without even knowing it.

The 2026 photography client is a content consumer and a much savvier shopper.

If you want your headshot website to work for you...

✅ The more human you are, the more personality you show, the more you will attract other humans like yourself.

Your personality sprinkled all over your website is the one thing that differentiates you from everyone else and that can not be copied!

It’s also the one that that’s going to bring people closer to you and to purchasing your services.

✅ Talk to ONE person directly in the first person as YOURSELF.

This means you need to throw out the old school formalities of third person bios. Yuk.

Third person bios are impersonal and in the age of social media, your ideal clients are looking for authenticity.

✅ Show your face!

OMG if I land on one more headshot photographer website where I have to go searching for the “person” behind the camera, I’m going to go mad.

Humans connect with other humans, not businesses.

No matter how shy you are or how unphotogenic you think you are, stop hiding and show your ideal clients who they’ll be meeting.

✨What’s important is you present yourself authentically and lean into who you are even if you’re shy because this is how your prospects will connect with you.

Make more money, easily become full time👇 Niche d Make more money, easily become full time👇

Niche down.

Counterintuitive I know.

But when you try to serve every single client type...

...weddings, babies, pets, corporate, headshots, families!

❌ You make your marketing generic.

❌ Your message confusing.

❌ and your value invisible.

👉 You become a commodity.

And commodities always compete on price.

✨But when you niche down and become the absolute expert for one specific client type:

✅ You stop chasing clients and they start seeking you.

✅ You stop competing on price because you’re seen as the specialist.

✅ You build authority and trust, which turns into clients booking you without hesitation.

Who would YOU hire? ⏬

A social media manager who helps businesses?

OR

A social media manager who helps photographers convert followers into clients?😉

Niching down doesn’t limit your income👇 🤷🏼‍♀️ May Niching down doesn’t limit your income👇

🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe you’re afraid that if you don’t list every single thing you can shoot, you’re leaving money on the table.

So your website and IG looks like this:⬇️

Weddings • Corporate • Babies • Food • Architecture • Pets

You think that saying “YES” to everything means you’ll make more money.

❌ But the opposite is true.

❌ Even as a photographer, if you’re a Jack of all trades, you’re a Master of none.

❌ And clients DON’T pay premium prices for “Generalists.”

✅ They pay for EXPERTS who can solve their specific problem.

✅ A “Generalist” is a commodity. An “Expert” is a necessity.

✅ The Expert ALWAYS garners more trust and can demand higher fees.

If you want to stop competing on price and start charging what you’re worth, you have to pick a lane and own it.

✨You need to become the go-to expert in your niche.

When you position yourself as the expert, you stop competing on price and start booking high-paying clients.

2-point lighting for headshot photographers. 📸👇 T 2-point lighting for headshot photographers. 📸👇

The golden rule is ensuring your rim light never overpowers your key light.

✅ Meter your rim light so it is a perfect match to your key light.

💇‍♂️If your subject has dark hair, drop the rim light a half stop or even a full stop lower.

Because it shows up much more intensely on darker tones.

What if their hair is pulled back in a ponytail?

💁🏼‍♀️ Same rule applies.

That light is going to hit the skin directly, which makes it pop even more.

✨ Keep it a half stop or full stop lower than the key light to keep the skin looking natural.

For lighter hair, bring up the rim light a half stop because you’ll need more light for it to show.
